Chuck Aoki is one of the newer players to wheelchair rugby, yet he has already began to make an impact on the sport. He began playing rugby after seeing the movie Murderball, and decided to check it out.
He instantly fell in love with the sport, and has not stopped playing since.
After helping to lead Minnesota to a Division II National Championship, he moved down to Tucson, AZ, to play for the University of
Arizona club team, which placed 3rd at the 2010 US nationals. He is now playing for the Tucson Pterodactyls, and hopes to lead them to a Division I National Title.
Chuck has also become a key player on his international side. He made the 2009 USA National Team that won the gold medal in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at the inaugural American Zonal Championships.
He then proceeded to also be selected to the 2010 Team USA World Championships squad, that won the gold medal at the 2010 World Championships held in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Chuck hopes to be again selected in 2010 for the 2011 US National Team, and again in 2011 for the USA Paralympic Team, and to travel and compete at the 2012 London Paralympics.
